#Mailplane unread notification not going away update
I have a friend that lives nearby, who also got the Modes update this morning, and having the exact same issue on Android. Un-check all notification options, tap the back button, then go back into the settings cog and check them all back on. Tap the settings cog at the top to open push notification settings. Double-check that all notifications are marked as 'read'. You know, Im going to turn badge notifications off. The app is working perfectly fine for that matter, it’s just the New Features notification absolutely will not clear. I had something like this similarly happen to me on iOS a week ago, and I had to go in, view the feature, then force close my app, go back in, repeat viewing/force close once more, and then it went away.
So far I found that the read/unread flag is only synched if I open the gmail app directly. Other apps like Hangouts work like expected: Message read -> Notification gone. Hi thank you so much for pointing this out! I have escalated this to the appropriate team for further review and I will make sure to keep you updated as we work towards a resolution. Before marshmallow (I think this started it, but I am not sure) this wasn't a problem and the notification always vanished in seconds after I read it on my desktop email client.
