I don't think any Final Fantasy sequels have ever sold better than their initial installments. In other news, speculation suggests that there will be another PlayStation State of Play arriving later this month with an announcement of God of War Ragnarok’s release date, and The Last of Us multiplayer is apparently a major part of Sony’s live service efforts. VII Rebirth will have a larger 'built-in' audience of FFVII die-hards, but being the middle chapter in an episodic series is probably going to limit its broad appeal at least a bit. We may also see more gameplay footage of Final Fantasy XVI, which was featured last week in Sony’s State of Play, but that’s likely not in the cards.
